Feast of the Immaculate Conception – Dec. 8, 2015

Feast of the Immaculate Conception – Dec. 8 2014
Mary, conceived without sin, what a gift to us, our Mother, and how many of us refuse or fail to understand the beauty of Mary.
Each of us desires a mothers love, even if we have been raised in a home without this love, or in a home where our mother may have been less than present with love given for reasons darkening her own soul. It is not for us to judge her, it is for us to embrace what God has given and allow it to be the fruit of the passion in our life to be made perfect as Christ was made perfect although He was the Christ, He too was made perfect in suffering.
One of the commandments is to honor your Father and Mother. I take this to mean first of course our Heavenly Father, and if this is our Heavenly Father, there must be a Heavenly Mother, and this must be Mary. This follows with us honoring our earthly father and mother, and we need to resolve all turmoil within us that placed voids of love in the process of growing up. Many of us have serious voids to fill and this cannot be done with self. It must be done with a complete change of heart with a difficult climb up the mountain of the Lord. Understanding this, it seems that most will mold their personalities to fit into the world, be comfortable on the outside, while the inside is in shreds. It lacks the perfection and the comfort to even come close to being peaceful. The soul lives in an upheaval of ups and downs in life, much like one diagnosed as a manic-depressive, which I think is quite the foolish diagnosis, not because there are not souls suffering as such, but if we are honest with self, anyone not abandoning their will to the interior purging and have the voids of love filled with the love of Christ to become pure being as Christ in this world will be suffering in a manic depressant state, the highs and lows of life. I am first filled with joy, next I am lost in sorrow, angry at God, my life is a mess, and on and on it goes.
God has given us a perfect Mother, a Father, God, Abba, that has created us from nothing. We are created in the image and likeness of the Second Person of the Trinity, Christ. Christ, the Man/God came from outside of time into time and through the power of the Holy Spirit, Love, He was incarnated in the womb of the most pure, Mary our Mother.
Mary, conceived without sin, could have at any time given life to her will. Think of your children, how willful they are, how at a very young age they test and attempt to do their will. We are aware of it as we watch them grow, laughing at how strong-willed they are. Yet Mary gave no life to her will, for she was created without sin, as man in the garden. In this she was in constant correspondence with her Father in heaven. The angels watched over her, and at the proper time the angel appeared and her yes was given. Without this yes, there would be no salvation history, no Christ on the Cross, no miracles, no hope, no faith, just man bearing down on man. Why was Christ born in a stable as a babe? For in a babe we see hope, we see new life, we see the freshness of a new beginning and a Mother so innocent, so radiant in Mary, for in her light radiated to her babe and from Him to the world. In this stable, born among the animals, shepherds gathered, the poorest of God’s people with their flocks and even the animals knew with a keen sense, an instinct that we as creatures fail to have, that here was the King, the one that is hope. As she held her child the light now radiated from her Babe to her heart, for she would forevermore share in his suffering and in all that her Son was to be to man.
It was His Mother that set Him on His path to Calvary and she followed in deep contemplative prayer, hidden for all to follow and to come to understand, for she is the most profound contemplative in the Church, and the one that will lead you to her Son, lead you to the deep wounds and becoming the Anima Christi, the heart of the Church’s illuminative prayers and meditations on sufferings, for they are the expression of love, and Mary holds these children in her heart. If anyone is to enter into a life with Christ, you will suffer, you must take up your cross daily and make the walk to Calvary.
I leave you with the consecration to Mary for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It is particularly for the America’s but can be adapted to any Country.
Let us give thanks to Mary, and know that if you have a wounded heart, Mary, as with all
mothers is the place to start for the kiss and the band-aide to the wounded heart that begins the healing that you may become the heart of Christ. Much love on this day of her Immaculate Conception and please consecrate your heart this day to her, if not with this prayer then with one of your favorite. Amen

Let All Rejoice, For it is Finished – May 19, 2015

As you probably have guessed by now, we have come to the end of the road of the publishing of Desert Morning and the House of Nazareth.  It is always bittersweet to bring something to an end for there has been much joy and suffering in keeping this site going for in actuality seven and one half years.      God has made it very clear that it is time for my soul to rest that I might continue in prayer and growth towards knowing Him in an even a more powerful way.  I would like to thank my cohorts for their help and support over these many years as I wanted to tear my hair out and jump on the computer, (not exactly the will of God),  but most especially I want to thank all of you, my faithful readers, and there have been many.  The site has reached not only this country, but Australia, Belgium, South America, the Philippines, India, and even the Middle East, as well as Russia.   It is hard to imagine the workings of God when one just gets out of the way lets God do.    After the site goes off line you may no longer reach me at the houseofnazareth.org.  My address will change to sjmthomas1@mac.com.  Thanks be to God for all His words that touched so many hearts and restored glory for the Kingdom of God, for what man cannot do, God most certainly desires to do, through His creature that He loves and desires to use.  It is now time for one of you to take up the torch and carry it.  Be not afraid.  He goes before you. Amen!

Congregation for doctrine of Faith – May 13, 2015

(Congregation for doctrine of Faith) – “God did not create man as a ‘solitary being’ but wished him to be a ‘social being’. Social life therefore is not exterior to man: he can only grow and realize his vocation in relation to others.” God freely confers being and life on everything that exists. Man and woman, created in His Image and Likeness, are for that very reason called to be the visible sign and the effective instrument of divine gratuitousness in the garden where God placed them as cultivators of creation.
From the beginning, it was God’s desire that there be man and woman, that the two shall become one. He created us Divine. Sin distorted this and the distortion had to start with division within the family as God’s desire was always to give us the best as we were Holy before the fall as He was holy. After the fall, we received all from the hand of God. At the time of Abel and Cain, Abel made an offering to God of the BEST that he had while Cain made an offering of the lesser. God was pleased with Abel for he gave his best, but God was not pleased with Cain. Cain in his jealousy killed Abel. Through sin creatures have sought ways to give lesser than they were. Many have not truly understood the nature of love. We have not understood that the family unit was given to us as a place to learn and sacrifice for each other. It is a small social structure based on the foundation of the Church. As the Second Person of the Trinitarian family sacrificed, remained in the darkness of the Womb of Mary, subjected Himself to obedience of a Creature, learned and grew in stature before God and man in the family structure and then He formed His Church. This Church is based on the family structure. This is the reason marriage is a sacrament.
Jesus is very definite about his feelings on Divorce. He desires that the family be as He treats His Church, turning the other cheek, loving each other, forgiving wrongs done and not holding a grudge for days, weeks, months, years until the anger destroys. What goes on behind closed doors is God’s most powerful instrument for changing ones heart if you will receive your spouse and children as Christ and all happenings as Christ’s disposition for you.
However, you must be honest with yourself. It takes two to tango. It is not the other’s fault. You must look at yourself. You are the one who desired god in your marriage and you received the abusive drunk; or, the beautiful woman who was the love of your life and she is a screaming shrew, that strikes you, controls all that you do. The signs were there before you married and God let you know but you did not listen. Now you are hiding out making believe that you have the perfect marriage in the Divine Will. Be careful you do not become the liar of which Christ says, “get away from me you evil doer, I do not know you.”
You must now receive all the love that God is sending you through your spouse, even though this love is wounded, until it truly becomes transparent as God reveals to your own human will who you truly are before Him. There is a Light ahead, go to it.
At the center of the revelation of the Divine Plan is the gift that God makes to humanity in his Son, Jesus Christ. The Bridegroom loves and gives of Himself to death. He is the model after which the marriage unit must be modeled. The Church is His Body and as He suffers for the body, so too there needs to be sacrificial love in a marriage/family. It is the spousal love of Christ for which shows its fullness in the offering made on the cross that the sacramentality of marriage originates. The grace of this sacrament conforms the love of the spouses to the love of Christ for the Church. Marriage is a covenant of love between a man and a woman. When we ignore this covenant and make our lives about self, is it any wonder that the grace that we seek, our prayers that we long to have answered, our desires to know God go unanswered.
We are disobedient children. There is a call to our hearts to turn around. To face God. To bare our hearts and souls in silence. To open the door of our will and see ourselves as he sees us. The family must be healed, but there must be those set aside as the one who will become love that He may receive His own in the one.
When you have the true commitment of heart to set your will aside and truly seek to die for God, you are dying for your mate. Out of this flows a pure love. You stop seeking “self” in the family unit. The family becomes a little Church unit and God pours out grace if this family is seeking first the kingdom of God. The children grow not seeking and learning self, but learning the self-sacrificing love of Christ in the family unit.
From this they are better equipped as adults to seek a mate that is not seeking from a neurotic need to have someone who will be a fixer of their needs, but one who will be on the continual road growing in stature before God and Man with the commitment to raise children to be holy as he is holy. Blessings from the House of Nazareth.
